What They Say

'We attended a one day coaching course which was run by Luke Kerr and IWBSA with it being informative, well constructed and full of information, some of which we knew and some which was new to us. The morning took place in the classroom where the rules were thoroughly run through with discussion time and input from all. The afternoon was spent on the sand with lots of technical drills and ideas which we have benefitted from and used regularly in our own sessions since at our Yellowave beach Sports company. Although the session was tiring it was still a lot of fun whilst learning the various technicalities. All in all, a very valuable and enjoyable course.'

The Foyer Beach Soccer coaching day and Cup was a great success; they were all still buzzing this morning when I came in to breakfast club, non stop chatter about the day. Thanks a lot for a cracking day and thank the IWBSA coaches for me.

I have attached a little memento of the day for you with the picture below, All I can say is the Portsmouth Foyer federation has really benefited from our day on the sand and this is an event what will definitely being doing time and time again.

The Nacro Beach Soccer tournament ran in August of this year and was a brilliant event. The day saw a lot of different things happening, with coaching, tournament play, BBQ's, a D.J and much more going on. All of the young people that attended the event had a brilliant time and no doubt it increased the popularity of the sport.

It was a real plus to have the current England Beach Soccer players down at the event and helping out the young people. With this being the first big event I have personally organized, I couldn't have completed it without the help and guidance of everyone at IWBSA.

Overall a brilliant event that I have no doubt we will endeavor to run again in the future. Many thanks and speak soon

I would just like to thank you all for your efforts last during the Nacro Beach Soccer World Cup. The day was a huge success and I look forward to developing this project ready for next year and engaging with even more young people.

I particularly would like to thank Luke Kerr and his IWBSA teams for all their hard work both leading up to the event and the actual day itself.
Once again thank you.

We really enjoyed the event and felt that it was a fantastic opportunity to get the kids involved with a different sporting event which has such great local influence and importance. The pupils really enjoyed the day and I felt they gained a lot from the experience of mixing with other schools within the competition and socially on the beach.

Our original aim was to get schools from other parts of the country involved to broaden horizons, however it ended up being an East Wight event which we would love to see expanded to the whole island in 2010.

We also felt that the emphasis of it being a learning experience was key and that the winning was not paramount. We also felt that having official beach football association (IWBSA) heavily involved made this more significant in terms of the delivery of coaching whilst playing and the organisation of fixtures etc...

The coverage in the press was good and it was a nice community feel to the day rather than a competition. The BBQ etc also made a nice contribution to the day and made the pupils feel that they were receiving a meaningful days experience beyond the football.

Thanks to all at IWBSA on what is an excellent Island Schools event.
